Solar Thermal - In House
People have used sun heated water for centuries and stored it for bathing, hand washing, laundry, heating homes and much more. The solar thermal systems used today combine the most efficient techniques for capturing the sun’s heat with modern plumbing systems to produce cost-effective hot water and reduce the need for gas or electricity to heat water. Now shower, wash and clean with free hot water from the sun!
There are a number of different solar thermal designs and sizes, but all are based on the same principle. Each has its pros and cons, and each is suitable for a specific application. Gravity fed systems, which are cheaper to purchase, have proven to cause problems with insufficient water pressure, therefore we do only offer to install pressurized systems. Pressurized means that the hot water coming out of your systems has more or less the same pressure than your cold water. We offer 150, 200, 300, 360 and 400 liter systems. For each person taking a shower per day we recommend 60L capacity. So for two people a 150 liter system is sufficient, whereas 6 people would need a 400 liter tank. Let us help you find out which system is best for you.
Solar Thermal for Pools & Hot Tubs
How it works:
The same idea for the solar thermal water heater can be applied to your pool or hot tub. Water is pumped through specially designed heating panels where the water is heated by the sun and then returned to the pool. This can be done automatically or, as a cheaper version of the system, manually. Avoid high electric bills and use the sun to efficiently heat your pool free of cost and maintenance. We use the same product as is used to heat the pools for the summer olympics! Designed carefully, this system will heat up your pool 6 to 8° C (+/- 10-14°F).
